When I was a kid, you could check one bag for free..

Good news, guys.  Finals are done and I'm still breathing.  I may have a few more wrinkles.... and my butt hurts from sitting all day everyday, but I'm alive.  And now it is almost time for CALIFORNIA!  Which means I better get packing.

Packing?  Shoot.  I am the WORST at packing.  I always get so stressed because I want to make sure that I have every possible thing you could ever want.  The problem is, we don't have the extra dough to check a bag. Remember the days when it was free? Yeah, me too.  But it's not anymore so we have to fit all of our junk for 3 weeks in a tiny carry-on.

Every clothing item must meet a few requirements: (a) able to mix and match with several outfits, (b) contain an elastic waistband...you know, it is the holidays, (c) able to roll it real small, and (e) be somewhat presentable.

I'm debating whether or not this outfit meets all of these requirements.  I know that it meets the first three.  I can wear all of these items with several different looks, it has elasticity, it rolls up small....BUT I'm questioning the presentable part.
Shirt: TJ Maxx Skirt: Thrift Store Tights: Gift from Whit
Shoes: TJ Maxx Belt: H&M
I can't decide if I look like a four-year-old......or like I am trying to be a human Christmas present.
Or, maybe it's the spinning that makes me look like a four-year-old?
You guys know I like bows but is this a little too much?  Or is it a nice festive touch to wear to church on Christmas?

Is this outfit worth taking up 8 square inches of space in my carry-on?

Also, any packing advice will be appreciated....I need to pack ASAP.

I LOVE the bow & you should definitely wear it to church on Christmas...it's SO cute! I don't think you look like a human Christmas present...but tis the season to look like that so I would just go with it :)

This is so cute! You don't look like a present, it would be perfect for the holidays though :)

I think the outfit is adorable! I would totally rock it out! Three weeks and a carry on is definitely a challenge! I know rolling my clothes or folding them into tiny squares works for me when I travel :)

you look splendid. really - KEEP THAT ONE! :) I wish i had packing advice for you - I'm terrible at packing. i take all eleventy-bajillion things i own with me. and i'm more of a mess because of it. you're a strong woman though - resisting the urge to participate in illegal activity just to pay for a checked bag. i'd have to do it. you're superwoman ;)

LOVE this look. I think it so perfect for Christmas. I say you bring one change of clothes and then go shopping when you get there :)

I think this is perfect for the holidays! You don't look like a four year old at all and if it can be rolled up and still look this cute when you put it on, I say pack it up!

Roll. Everything. Seriously, I packed my mom's purse with enough clothes for four days this way. Trust me, ROLL LIKE THERE'S NO TOMORROW. Oh, and have fun! :D

P.S. I think hat dress looks a teeeeensy bit 'little girly,' but that's just my humble opinion.

I love this look. Bring it to CA! I would also try it with a gray top.

I'm not an expert packer. I miss the days when I could bring bags on the plane for free.

I would probably be the type to ask for a checked bag as a Christmas present. I really cannot do carry-on packing.

This is a super fun and festive outfit! I think the red lips are too matchy-matchy though. I'd go for a more blushy pink.

Wear you biggest/heaviest clothes the day you fly (ie boots, sweaters) so you don't have to worry about them fitting in the carry on. Carry a big purse so that can hold your makeup bag and jewelry, as well as your normal purse contents, so you don't have to waste space with those items in the carry on.

i think its really cute but im not wild about the tights or shoes. maybe bare legs and flats? plus flats are easier to mix and match. But I love the belt. Its super cute :)

Outfit, yes! Don't forget to pack the baby powder, my kiwi friend. But then again, you can get that in CA. Miss you!

I love this outfit! :] And you don't look like a 4-year-old at all! Also, I wish I had packing advice but I am awful at packing! I'm still learning how to do the whole mix and match thing!

I've been on several different airlines lately and have always been able to check my bag for free! i always carry on though. i wear my coat and boots and then pack tight and light (or use the sealed bags from bed bath and beyond)and call it a day. and i would say no belt, i think it makes it a bit too kidish. if it were a white bow belt i may feel differently though..

I feel your pain. I am such a bad packer and that's when I only leave for a weekend. When it is more, might as well just move there. The best is my dad's face when he picks up the bag to put it in the trunk. So bad. I've been putting together alist as of now for my Holiday travel though :)

Lovely outfit girl!!

I love it - but agree with the girl that said no tights and flats... The tights just make it a bit too dark. But it is supercute!!♥
